Untitled [I]

By Kyle E Miller From Issue No. 8

She disappeared on a painted mare Hunting for morels the size of children’s brains Far too late in the season of the last Bealtaine. The midnight druid captured the dogs sent to search But the hunters found the mare’s bones buried 2000 years ago beside a lost draft of Metamorphoses. A ram capering among the scheming ewes Like Eros in an autonomous zone. Strength is stepping on an ant without crushing him. The men who believe music sounds a certain way Stand in a forest of rifles talking about Young girls as if they were horses and Climbing the lips of God with mud on their feet. The difference between here and there being that Here the word for world is unspoken.
