After Her Husband Died

By Linda Lowe From Issue No. 2

Every morning she went to the grocery
scoured the aisles for his favorites.
Every night she cooked and cooked
and when friends dropped by
she claimed he was stuck in traffic.
She got skinny from the craziness,
And cursed the garbage disposal
gobbling up the fine, fine dinners.
