Joe Gilbert is a linguist, teacher, and ex-poker dealer who lives with his ladylove in Pittsfield, NH, where they keep cats, ducks, and chickens. He holds an MFA in fiction from the University of New Hampshire. His stories have previously appeared in Scrivener Creative Review and Southern California Review, whose matching initials are a coincidence he just now noticed, and is also the author of a play, The Last Week of the Torero, which was produced at the Players’ Ring in Portsmouth, NH. He enjoys Deep Space Nine, Herman Melville, and nineties West Coast rap.
